Helping PwC become
a “Great Place to Work

Situation

As with any services firm, the pace and nature of work can be intense and put great
pressure on employees' ability to have satisfying professional and personal lives.
The accounting/consulting profession — including PwC — is no exception.

Starfish was retained by PwC to help communicate to employees an understanding
of the issues surrounding work/life while at the same time recognize the value of its
employees contribution to the success of the firm.

Solution
Working closely with PwC's marketing and Human Capital departments, Starfish
helped to create a more upfront, natural style of communications that reinforced
three primary objectives:

         - Showing how PwC is redefining the workplace
         - Proving that PwC respects its employees by listening and responding
           in a meaningful way
         - Placing great value on employees' personal and professional lives

Numerous
"Work Life Balance" initiatives were developed to demonstrate the
sincere commitment of the firm to address work/life issues. The initiatives covered
a range of needs an employee might have, from professional to personal, to emotional.
Some of the specific programs for which Starfish created communications were:

         -
Chairman's Award. Celebrating and recognizing a handful of employees who            embody a true spirit of excellence at PwC

         - The Prepared Parent. Part of a fulsome communications effort directed at
working moms and dads — this booklet focuses on expecting parents.
It provides advice and wisdom from PwC colleagues as well as information
about the many resources available to support them in managing their lives
           as parents and professionals

         - Everyday Coaching. An initiative which encourages candid dialogue
between coaches and coachees during the course of the entire year
           (not just during review periods).

         - Summer Fridays. A program, which encourages employees to take
advantage of "flexible Fridays" — being able to work a four-day week during
the summer (and not feel guilty about it!). This was part of a comprehensive
communications effort where the firm stressed the importance of taking
vacation time — Rest and Relaxation: The value of time off.

Results
A statement about an organization's efforts in areas like this is best acknowledged
by others. And that was the case for PwC. For the very first time, in 2006, PwC
was included in Fortune Magazine's "100 best companies to work for" list and is
proud to have remained on the list in 2007 and 2008.

"We have been very pleased with the performance of Starfish", said Jim Kelly,
US Brand Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers
. "They bring strategic insight, creativity
and a responsive team to each assignment."
